Community Service

The Capital Chapter has a rich history of serving our community via charity efforts, community outreach, and the Toni K. Allen Scholarship. In response to member feedback, the Chapter has adopted a new, year-round approach to community service. In the past, our focus has been charitable giving during the holiday season.  We feel that this change to a year-round approach will benefit both our members and their firms by providing more frequent and diverse ways to give, as well as enable us as a Chapter to have a greater positive impact on our community.

Beginning in 2017, our focus will be as follows:

  • Year-Round: Toni K. Allen Scholarship

We will continue to support the Toni K. Allen Scholarship throughout the year via 50/50 raffles, pledging, the fundraising eBook, and the silent auction. Click Here for more information on supporting the scholarship.

  • 1st Quarter: Local food bank/meal program
  • 2nd Quarter: Children’s education
  • 3rd Quarter: Service organization
  • 4th Quarter: Holiday giving

The Community Services Team hopes that you are as excited about these new opportunities for giving as we are!  The Chapter needs your help in order to make this successful, and welcomes your suggestions.  As we identify the organizations with which we will work each quarter, we will look to you, our members, to help organize and coordinate our charitable efforts.  This is a great opportunity for us as a Chapter to give back to our community on a regular basis.

Let’s all work together to continue the Chapter’s long history of giving back to our community.  Together, we can continue to make a difference.
