Job Description

Ballard Spahr LLP seeks an experienced professional to manage, organize, coordinate and have overall responsibility for the practice support provided by the legal administrative assistants, legal support assistants and project assistants in the DC office.  The manager will assist in establishing firm-wide best practices and ensure the delivery of effective, efficient, and team-oriented support to lawyers and clients.  The selected individual will be responsible for managing work schedules, coaching, leading and developing high performance teams.  The manager is responsible for the full life cycle of its team members, including recruiting, onboarding, training, and performance management.  


Required Skills

Strong leadership, problem solving and interpersonal skills are essential; must be an effective communicator with excellent speaking and writing skills.  Must possess strong financial, analytical and project management skills.


Required Experience

Qualified candidates will have a minimum of five years of progressive management experience, including staff management experience, in a law firm or similar professional services environment.  HR experience a plus.  A high degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).  Bachelor’s degree, preferred.
