As the Senior Coordinator, Strategic Pricing, you will work closely with the Director, Strategic Pricing and Senior Director, Strategic Pricing and Business Solutions, playing a critical role in assisting with the financial analytical functions of alternative fee arrangements (AFA), client/matter profitability, and general pricing strategy.  In addition, you will work with the team to devise and creative alternative fee arrangements, manage the review/approval process, develop reporting capabilities, and implement strategies for leveraging AFAs to the betterment of the Firm.


On any given day you will be working with firm leadership and business colleagues on a variety of requests and projects.  You will:

  • Work with attorneys, the proposal team, Finance, and the members of the Strategic Pricing department to prepare the financial and pricing responses to client RFP submissions.
  • Take ownership of the monthly AFA report-outs to department chairs and firm partners
  • Use our internal tools and in coordination with Finance, mine information about our past investment in different types of work to develop reliable budget estimates and/or AFAs for new opportunities.
  • Understand the different type of AFAs available and what AFA works best with different areas of law.
  • Own the approval process for pricing requests, based on Firm guidelines and best practices.
  • Assist with the AFA workflow process to include matter intake, financial modeling, evaluation of staffing models and internal billing practices.


  • Previous familiarity with law firms and, ideally, pricing.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or related experience.
  • A demonstrated ability to communicate persuasively, both orally and in writing, on a prepared and extemporaneous basis.
  • The ability to work under multiple deadlines with attention to time-sensitivity.
  • The ability to adapt to changing priorities and maintain a productive and committed work effort, meeting deadlines and managing workload.
  • The ability to work with others effectively in a team or cooperative environment to complete projects and to reach established goals and objectives in a timely manner.
  • A hands-on self-starter attitude with the desire, drive, and ability to establish and maintain credibility among the firm's Partners, officers and other decision makers.
  • The ability to analyze and interpret information from a variety of sources, apply critical and creative thinking to draw conclusions or develop solutions to complex problems.
  • The ability to provide quality client service to both internal and external contacts, regarding matters of a complex nature. Requires patience, creativity and discretion.
  • A demonstrated proficiency in all Microsoft office products, specifically Excel and Access.
