As the Senior Security Engineer you will be responsible for assessing and protecting Seyfarth Shaw’s technology infrastructure. You should have a thorough knowledge of security technologies as well as experience in practical application of best practices. You must be able to adopt the hacker mindset to anticipate and defend the Firm against information security threats.


On any given day, you will be working with IT colleagues, end users and external service providers on a variety of projects and requests. You will:

  • Assist with identifying security design gaps in existing and proposed architectures and recommend changes or enhancements. Assist in designing and/or modifying security architecture elements for new IT service offerings and in response to the changing threat landscape.
  • Work with development and deployment teams to ensure secure releases.
  • Administer firewalls and other infrastructure technology, optimizing for security and reliability.
  • Be a self-starter; able to work in a fast-paced environment; and exercise independent judgment in performing all aspects of your role.
  • Other responsibilities, as required.


  • At least five years’ experience in a technical information security position, preferably within a large global, multisite environment
  • Experience working with project teams to plan and implement security best practices in architecture and design
  • Experience with building and maintaining security infrastructure including firewalls and VPNs
  • Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems, VMWare, Cisco networking and security technology, and LAN/WAN infrastructure
  • Understanding of microsegmentation technology
  • Tireless drive to improve security
