Ballard Spahr LLP, a national law firm with more than 1,200 lawyers and staff in 15 offices around the country is seeking a recent college graduate who possesses strong analytical and data skills, is detail-oriented to be responsible for collecting and analyzing data, creating specific and detailed analysis, assisting in vendor renewals with the goal of identifying opportunities, vendor contact negotiations, that drive savings, support business enablement and eliminate redundant or unnecessary spend. The Procurement Analyst will be trained to conduct spend analysis to identify vendors/spend categories for sourcing actions and work with and serve as a back up to Procurement Manager. Once fully trained, the successful candidate will undertake a range of tasks and responsibilities that include but are not limited to:

  • Conduct spend analysis, support and analyze the development of RFP/RFI documents and provide analytical support for supplier negotiations
  • Provide project management support with strategic initiatives, workload allocation and process documentation
  • Perform detailed benchmark research and develop a benchmark database
  • Supporting the administration of the Contract Management Database
  • Implement new workflow tools, manage vendor scorecards and formalize vendor performance monitoring

A bachelor’s degree in any business discipline and 1-2 years of related work experience.  Solid analytical and technical skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and e-sourcing application skills are indispensable.  Knowledge of generally accepted procurement policies, procedures, contractual terms and conditions, and methods is preferred. Project management and vendor management skills a plus.
