Ballard Spahr LLP, a national law firm with more than 1,200 lawyers and staff in 15 offices around the country, is seeking an experienced professional to manage the operations of the Baltimore office including its adjustment to a new office location in Spring 2022.  The Director of Office Administration reports to the Office Managing Partner and Chief of Real Estate and Office Operations. The selected individual must be a creative thinker, problem solver, and agent for positive change. The Director of Office Administration will manage the support staff, office services, and facilities, and will develop and implement key firm and office initiatives.  The chosen candidate will collaborate with a management team that includes the Directors of Office Administration of the firm’s other offices and the chiefs of other administrative areas.  The Director of Administration interacts with lawyers and other professionals on a daily basis.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate independent judgment, strong attention to detail, and client service and interpersonal skills. Strong leadership, project management organizational and oral and written communication skills is required. 

Candidates should have experience with personnel management, project management, budget planning and control, and facilities management, including management of construction projects.  A bachelor’s degree and prior experience in a law firm or other professional services environment are required.
