SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:
The Attorney Recruiting Coordinator is responsible for coordinating
legal recruiting processes for lateral associates and law students
and supporting the development and implementation of the summer
associate program. This position supports the Director of Attorney
Recruiting and Attorney Recruiting Manager with all aspects of
recruiting, including sourcing candidates, scheduling interviews,
developing reports, and onboarding new attorneys.
The Attorney Recruiting Coordinator also provides support for law student recruiting initiatives, including outreach efforts, attending events, and other activities designed to promote the firm’s brand and reputation, and works on other special projects as assigned.
This position is eligible to participate in the firm's flexible work program.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Lateral Associate Recruiting
• Assist in all aspects of lateral recruiting, including
drafting and posting job descriptions, reviewing candidate
submissions, coordinating interviews and collecting feedback, data
tracking and reporting on lateral searches, and assisting with
onboarding newly hired attorneys
• Build and maintain relationships with external search firms
and prepare and track agreements
• Maintain and update legal recruiting database, viRecruit,
and all candidate files. Generate reports as requested for practice
groups regarding ongoing searches and candidate status updates.
• Utilize creative sourcing strategies to identify and build
a diverse pipeline of qualified candidates and conduct candidate
outreach as appropriate
• Prepare department correspondence to potential candidates
and incoming attorneys and students
• Maintain and update website content
• Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices,
ensuring consistency of Firm recruiting policies and procedures
Fall Recruiting and Summer Associate
Program
• Support the development and execution of the firm’s
summer associate program, including planning and attending events,
facilitating orientation, processing expense reimbursements and
vendor invoices, and coordinating work assignments and
evaluations
• Coordinate all aspects of on-campus interview and call-back
interview processes, including interview scheduling and student
communication, preparation of information for the Recruiting
Committee, and data tracking and reporting for on-campus recruiting
results
• Update and distribute recruiting materials, including forms
and manuals
• Develop and leverage relationships with career services
departments at law schools and coordinate outreach efforts
throughout the year
• Coordinate law student outreach initiatives, including
attending and engaging with candidates at recruiting receptions and
local law school affinity and special interest organizations
designed to enhance the firm’s brand and reputation in the
market
• Provide other general administrative support or work on
other special projects as needed to support the operations of the
Legal Talent Department
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• Position operates in a professional office environment
which is usually quiet to moderate
• Position routinely uses standard office equipment such as
computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets
• Position requires that the employee be able to multi-task
in a fast-paced work environment
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• This position is primarily a sedentary position. However,
some duties and responsibilities may require the employee to lift
files, open filing cabinets, bend or stand, reach with arms and
hands, climb or balance, occasionally move about to access office
equipment, file cabinets, etc.
• May require employee to carry or lift items weighing up to
10 pounds

• Ability to communicate professionally and effectively, both
in oral and written form
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize/coordinate deadlines and
track progress of tasks
• Ability to organize work flow and use time efficiently
• Ability to demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy
• Must maintain confidentiality of work related information
and materials
• Must establish and maintain effective working relationships
in or out of a team environment
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite
• Understanding and proficiency with viRecruit or other
similar legal recruiting systems
• Understands and adopts the organizational structure
• Possesses the attitude of collaboration and sharing
• Willingness to learn and adopt new methodologies
• Flexibility to work overtime on an as-needed basis
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Minimum two (2) plus years of legal recruiting experience.
Previous experience in a large law firm strongly preferred.
