The Applications & Network Administrator provides end-user application support, troubleshooting for application and network errors, and management of the firm’s LAN/WAN equipment.  The Administrator is responsible for end-user support of the Office 365 suite as it is integrated with the NetDocs document management system and the local area network hardware.  The day-to-day maintenance of Network management includes Active Directory, backups/disaster recovery systems, disk arrays, VOIP telephones, HP printers, copiers, network switches, routers, gateways and firewall.

The Administrator works with the firm’s help desk call center on routine support calls and works with the managed service provider consultant (MSP) on the implementation of new technologies. The Administrator will play a role in coordinating upgrade initiatives, including assisting the MSP with facilitating activities such as upgrading systems with the latest versions of software, the rollout of new hardware and training. The person will be responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and operation of the network servers, desktop, and storage infrastructure. Ensures that the software, network equipment and printers are functional to accommodate the firm’s users.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to work with members and associates in person or over the phone,

in a courteous, pleasant, professional, and efficient manner. Discretion, accuracy, and clarity in

communication is essential. Requires an advanced proficiency in the operation of local and wide-area networks and components. Must be proficient with current Microsoft Office 365 and associated cloud applications.  Must be able to perform duties accurately and independently, prioritize tasks, and

meet deadlines. A high degree of professionalism in regard to safeguarding sensitive data is also a requirement.

 

SPECIFIC DUTIES

  1. Responds in a timely fashion to end users’ needs and concerns relating to word processing and documents management applications and troubleshoot hardware and remote connectivity issues.
  2. Provides first-line support for all software and hardware.
  3. Configures and maintains Microsoft Active Directory. Setup users in Office365.
  4. Performs day-to-day maintenance of network servers.
  5. Logs all end-users incidents (pcs, laptops, remote connections and printer problems). Calls appropriate maintenance organizations and arranges for repair. Notifies supervisor of unusual problems.
  6. Trains, instructs, and educates groups and individuals in a team environment.
  7. Maintains all communications equipment including VoIP telephones.
  8. Schedules and arranges for all application software and firmware updates, service contracts, and support contracts.
  9. Handles multiple project responsibilities simultaneously to prioritize work and resolve technical emergencies as they may occur.
  10. Protects the organization by keeping information confidential.
  11. Manages technical resources, providing vendors with all the information needed to assist in troubleshooting incidents.
  12. Secures network by developing network access and network monitoring controls.
  13. Monitor and update antivirus software, review and remove threats when detected. Installs, configures and maintains IPS/IDS, Firewall, Anti-Virus, Anti-Spam, Anti-Malware, etc. for maximum internal network protection.
  14. Works with MSP in designing systems architecture.
  15. Installs, configures, tests and maintains servers, SAN, and related networking equipment.
  16. Maintains all data used for redundancy efforts and assists with remediation efforts as result of test findings and risk assessments.
  17. Establishes end-user requirements by conferring with users; analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements
  18. Evaluates network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput and latency.
  19. Performs such other duties as may be required from time to time for the overall management and operation of the network.

 

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent customer service skills, ability to collaborate with MSP and end-users
  • Engaging presentation skills
  • 5 Years of experience in an office environment
  • Network performance tuning and LAN knowledge
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems or related IT specialization. Experience and professional certification may be substituted for degree requirement
