As a real estate paralegal, you will assist attorneys in all aspects of commercial real estate transactions, including documentation, due diligence, closing and post-closing activities for real estate acquisitions, dispositions, financing and leasing. You will be a member of the firm’s Real Estate department, reporting to the attorneys on your team.



On any given day, you will:

  • Order and review title commitments, exception documents and surveys, interfacing directly with the title company and surveyor to resolve any issues or discrepancies.
  • Conduct title and survey review and analysis for commercial real estate loans in accordance with lending platform requirements, including, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac multifamily requirements.
  • Maintain thorough and current knowledge of lending platform guidelines, including Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac multifamily requirements.
  • Prepare and administer contract critical dates and closing checklists.
  • Coordinate and assist with all aspects of closings, including preparation of financing or conveyance documents (as applicable), closing statements, and other closing documents.
  • Attend to all post-closing requirements, which will require you to prepare closing indices, prepare and organize closing binders, and monitor all post-closing deliveries and requirements.
  • Prepare delivery packages of final loan documents in accordance with the precise lending platform requirements, including Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac multifamily requirements, including electronic uploads to document management systems.
  • Prepare clear and concise correspondence and memoranda.
  • Prepare initial drafts of transaction documents, amendments to agreements or leases and miscellaneous documents, including estoppel certificates, SNDAs and Memos of Lease for attorney review.
  • Review organizational and authority documents.
  • Order UCC, lien and other searches.



  • 5 years of experience in commercial real estate transactions, including experience with acquisitions, dispositions, financings and leasing. Law firm and in-house experience will be considered.
  • Significant title and survey experience, both from the developer/owner and lender sides, including review of title commitments and surveys, review and analysis of easements, declarations, REA's and other exception documents, and preparation and negotiation of title objection letters.
  • High level of attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in a deadline-driven environment.
  • A Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook or similar mail and calendar technology.
  • Legal research skills and knowledge of relevant databases.
  • Strong writing, organizational and communication skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation and legal terminology.
